The Rodds Bay Solar Farm required Periurban Property Development to:
Identify possible sites in Queensland for large utility scaled solar farms
- Conduct initial site assessments
- Recommend preferred sites
- Engage landowners and negotiate terms
- Project manage the development application and approval processes
- Engage with the wider community, council and state government departments
- Prepare the detailed town planning report and finalise the development application
The result is an approval for a 300MW solar farm (with battery storage) to be constructed 30 minutes south of Gladstone, Queensland. The project will cost $400 million to construct and will employ over 300 workers during the 18 months of construction. Work is scheduled to commence 2nd Quarter 2020.
