Tuesday 30th of January – Bororen Community Hall

Members of the Renew Estate and Wirsol teams from Sydney and the Periurban Property team from Brisbane conducted  a “Drop In” community engagement session for the residents of Bororen, Turkey Beach and Rodd’s Bay.

The purpose of the evening was to give the local residents an overview of the Rodd’s Bay Solar Farm to be built in this region, commencing around July 2018.

The project will take around 18 months to complete. When completed, Stage 1 will encompass a 300MW solar farm spread out over 2,500 acres.

At a later date, battery storage and additional Photovoltaic capacity will be added.

During the construction phase, over 200 workers will be involved. Renew Estate has a publicly stated commitment to employ as many local consultants, engineers, tradesman and workers as possible.

Power from the site will flow directly to Gladstone via a 250kv Powerlink grid connection. A substation will be built on site to cater for the connection to the grid.

The first phase of the project is a $350 million AUD investment in the Gladstone area.

The afternoon and evening were very well attended by interested members of the community, with overwhelming support for the project being granted by the local residents.

The project is the culmination of advance work on the ground by Periurban Property and the highly skilled technical and project management team at Renew Estate and Wirsol.

On the 22nd of February a public launch of Renew Estate and the intended projects in the pipeline for the Gladstone area is to be conducted at the Gladstone Entertainment and Community Centre from 6.30pm.  Following this event we will have some very exciting news and projects to share!
